The life trajectory of migrants with disabilities in the host country constitutes the intersection of two conditions, being a foreigner and having an impairment. These conditions need to be explored on the basis of the culture of the country of origin, the culture of the country in which they now live and the new transcultural space defined by the meeting between these cultures. This paper presents suggestions for a personalized approach to counseling taking into account issues of disability and interculturality in the school and in out-of-school contexts. It is believed that counseling in Special and Intercultural Education can develop as a fundamental practice of «capacity building co-planning» (Marchisio, 2019, p. 85) for immigrant families and professionals.
