Abstract

The MIUR report published in May 2019 relating to the Academic Year 2017/2018 attests that pupils without Italian citizenship with disabilities in our country are equal to 13% of the certificates. The growing number of boys and girls living on their own skin the theme of the double difference, strongly recalls the need to bring into the field a reticular intervention that first accompanies the parental figures, often loaded, not only with a complex task, but also with limitations in terms of access to the certification process, to the understanding of diagnosis, to authentic practices of educational care. The aim of this contribution is to present the evolution of interventions to support families, focusing in particular on the possibilities offered by the home educational experiences and the attendance to ECEC services. It is strongly highlighted the need for a transition from approaches more based on rehabilitation and compensation to others focused on the capability and empowerment dynamics.
